Established in 2017, Eco Champions is a network of young professional environmentalists leading environmental change through climate education, tree planting, and climate change advocacy in Nigeria. We are raising the 'now and next' generation of Environmental leaders.


To promote environmentally conscious practices and raise the next generation of Environmental Leaders.


We envision a cleaner and greener Nigeria where all can live and work to their fullest potential.

The super heroes driving our vision

Temilade Salami

Founder/Executive Director

Temilade Salami is an Environmentalist, author and Marine Biologist with over four years experience leading on various youth-led environmental sustainability initiatives across Nigeria. She is the Executive Director of “EcoChampions”, one of Nigeria’s largest networks of professional environmentalists, leading environmental change through climate education and advocacy, tree planting, and plastic waste management in Nigeria. 


She is also a Chevening scholar currently studying in the UK at the University of Sussex, for a masters in Environment, Development and policy.

She serves as the Deputy chair of the University of Sussex student sustainability committee and a member of the UNESCO SDG4YOUTH Network.

She has also written two illustrated environmental books for kids and, currently pushing for Climate Education in Nigeria’s education system. She wears her creative hat on some days through poetry in creating artistic awareness of the need for environmental sustainability and justice


Volunteer Coordinator

Oloyede OluwaFunmilola Bilkis is a passionate climate change activist. She works as the Volunteer coordinator for EcoChampions. She coordinates the recruitment of volunteers who are dedicated and willing to further our vision of a cleaner and greener Nigeria.

She’s also a student of university of Lagos currently studying Marine Science.


Administrative Officer

Chukwudi Nwoko expresses his resolve in building a sustainable society via environmental advocacy. He is the Administrative Officer at EcoChampions, where he manages and oversees tasks and projects. He also serves as the point of contact for volunteers while providing administrative support.


Programs Director

Temidayo Akinyelure is an architect with an avid passion for promoting sustainability in design and brings this to his role as the Programs Director in EcoChampions.

In his capacity with EcoChampions he works with the team to organise and manage programs, projects, and events for the organisation.

Adeola Adekunle

Assistant Programs Director

Adeola Adekunle is an environmental toxicologist with a keen interest in environmental advocacy and serves as the Assistant Programs Director in Ecowarriors.

In her capacity with EcoChampions, she works alongside the programs director to ensure that programs are well planned and implemented in line with the organisation’s missions and goals.


Social Media Manager

Adepoju Sophia Temiloluwa works as the social media manager for EcoChampions. She curates educating and informative content that aims to create awareness about climate changes and environmental sustainability
